This project demonstrates BCE’s ability to provide professional design management and peer review services, energy audits, energy modeling, construction administration and construction management, owner representation, cost estimating, project cost and schedule tracking, LEED consulting and project commissioning on a federal government project for General Services Administration.
BCE prepared the Statement of Work and Performance Specifications for bidding among design-build contractors. This Statement of Work addressed not only the required upgrades, but also energy conservation measures necessary to make the building sustainable and energy efficient. BCE assisted the GSA with the contract procurement, negotiations, and management. BCE managed and reviewed the design that included upgrades and replacement of lighting and major electrical systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to increase their energy efficiency, performance, and sustainability of the building. BCE averts potential claims utilizing effective claims mitigation practices. BCE developed a commissioning plan for a complex mechanical and electrical retrofit in an occupied building.
