Engineering & construction management company is currently hiring a Construction Manager (CM) and Construction Inspector (CI) to provide construction management services for projects that include repairs or replacements to address hurricane-related damage to facilities at five locations within the Biscayne National Park. Three (3) project locations (Boca Chita Key, Adams Key, Elliott Key) are located approx. 7 miles off the mainland and two (2) project locations are located on the mainland (Convoy Point and Black Point Jetty).
Projects will include the following:
- Placement of fill and riprap revetment intended to restore eroded shoreline and trail surface.
- Concrete footbridges will be raised to match new trail elevation.
- Replace existing boardwalk in same footprint as existing, adding new boardwalk over existing trail, repair to existing footbridge.
- Replace all existing floating dock segments and appurtenances within the same footprint as existing structure.
- Shoreline stabilization with fill and revetment intending to restore the shoreline to its original configuration.
- Replace concrete and wooden dock with new concrete structure; replace 5 timber mooring piles at sea ramp.
Performance Period: 365 calendar days of construction management services. Exact dates of performance have yet to be determined and are dependent upon start of construction activities.
Location: The construction project location is: BISCAYNE NATIONAL PARK, Miami-Dade County, Florida
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
CM & CI shall be knowledgeable in construction practices, including the following:
*Knowledge of and experience with construction practices directly related to shoreline restorations, rip rap placement, marine concrete placement (pre-cast piles, piles caps, fixed dock which uses precast and cast-in-place methods), helical piles installation, boardwalk and footbridge construction, grading, low-voltage lighting, electrical, floating docks /installation and demolition.
*Education leading to or equivalent to a Construction Management Degree or Engineering Degree.
*Knowledgeable in construction practices including applicable building codes, applicable safety regulations, cost breakdown, estimating, negotiating, scheduling.
*Hold a current Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour construction safety training certification.
*Computer literate and able to open and manipulate Microsoft (MS) Project, Word and Excel. Able to take and upload construction photos to Project Management software.
*Certifications related to construction practices and materials including safety certifications.
*Management and coordination experience with overseeing multiple contractors/subcontractors with overlapping responsibilities.
*Experience with user-friendly Project Management software.
*Prior experience working with Federal Government Project Managers/CORs on processing change requests, requests for information, submittals, field observation reports, and developing Independent Government Estimates (IGE).
*Knowledge and experience with ecological restoration projects including monitoring for threatened and endangered species, mangrove protection measures and erosion and sedimentation controls.
*Proven people skills: ability to represent the interests of the government in a professional manner and ensure quality of work while maintaining good relationships with contractor as well as park staff.
