Fish Passage Analyses & Design

6. Fish PassageBCE performed engineering services on multi-year multi-task contracts for the USDA Forest Service.  The work spanned over 5 consecutive years and involved over one hundred (100) of individual project sites. These projects were located at remote sites of the Tongass National Forest. BCE team evaluated and assessed the existing conditions, conducted surveys, identified borrow pit sources, conducted discharge measurements, and geotechnical investigations. These projects involved hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and design of such structures as culverts and bridges. GIS and contour map were developed, fish passage analyses were conducted utilizing WinXPro,  Fish.xing, and other  programs. BCE also provided stream restoration designs, cost estimating, coordination with regulatory agencies and permitting, bidding assistance, construction oversight, and other services.
