BCE performed a Feasibility Study for the replacement of the existing steam boilers and heating system at this Historic Federal Building. Destructive and non-destructive testing was conducted to evaluate the condition of the existing piping. BCE provided energy performance analysis, reviewed alternative energy sources, value engineered findings, and provided recommendations, various options for the system upgrades, and cost estimating. BCE also assisted the Client with construction management (CMa) work for Phase II of this project which included: design reviews, a Value Engineering Workshop and a Study Report, attendance of design and construction meeting, construction inspections and oversight, review of submittals, RFI’s, pay requests, and other documentation. The Value Engineering Study conducted allowed for energy savings to be maximized, while keeping the costs of the system down.
